Introduction

At DME-T, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your digital identity. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information that identifies or is associated with you when you use our platform.

Our digital identity management system is built on the Solana blockchain, providing a secure, transparent, and immutable record of credentials and certifications for professionals in the technical and industrial sectors.

Information We Collect

We collect different types of information to provide and improve our services:

Personal Information

  • Identity Information: Name, professional title, employer details, certifications, and qualifications.
  • Contact Information: Email address, phone number, and professional address.
  • Blockchain Wallet Information: Your public wallet address (but never your private keys).

Professional Credentials

  • Certifications: Professional qualifications, licenses, and certifications.
  • Work History: Project involvement, experience records, and professional achievements.
  • Educational Background: Training records and educational qualifications.

Technical Information

  • Usage Data: How you interact with our platform, search queries, and browsing patterns.
  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Digital Identity Verification: To create, maintain, and validate your professional digital identity on the blockchain.
  • Credential Verification: To enable third parties to verify your professional credentials and certifications.
  • Token Rewards: To issue DME-T tokens as rewards for project completions and professional achievements.
  • Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our platform's functionality and user experience.
  • Communication: To send you important updates about your digital identity, credential changes, and platform announcements.
  • Security: To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorized access, and other potential security issues.

Blockchain Data

As a blockchain-based platform, certain information will be stored publicly on the Solana blockchain:

  • Public Wallet Address: Your public wallet address is visible on the blockchain and associated with your digital identity.
  • Transaction History: Token transfers, rewards, and credential validations are recorded on the blockchain.
  • Credential Metadata: Non-sensitive metadata about your credentials may be stored on-chain.

It's important to understand that information recorded on the blockchain is immutable and cannot be deleted. However, personally identifiable information (PII) is stored off-chain in encrypted databases.

How We Save and Store Your Data

We employ a hybrid data storage approach to balance security, privacy, and the benefits of blockchain technology:

On-Chain Storage (Blockchain)

  • Public Data: Your public wallet address, credential verification status, and non-sensitive metadata are stored on the Solana blockchain.
  • Transaction Records: Token transfers, rewards, and validation timestamps are permanently recorded on-chain.
  • Credential Hashes: Cryptographic proofs of your credentials without revealing private details.

Note: On-chain data is immutable and publicly visible by design. We never store sensitive personal information on the blockchain itself.

Off-Chain Storage (Secure Databases)

  • Personal Information: Your name, contact details, and other private information are stored in encrypted databases.
  • Credential Details: The specific contents of your certifications, qualifications, and professional achievements.
  • Account Preferences: Your settings, notification preferences, and platform customizations.

Our off-chain storage uses industry-standard encryption and security practices with regular backups and disaster recovery protocols.

Data Segregation

We maintain strict separation between sensitive personal data and blockchain-visible data. This segregation ensures that your private information remains private while still benefiting from blockchain verification.

Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your information:

  • End-to-End Encryption: Personal information is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption algorithms.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication: Access to our databases requires multiple verification methods.
  • Access Controls: Strict role-based access controls limit who can access your information, with comprehensive audit logs of all access attempts.
  • Regular Security Audits: We conduct regular internal and third-party security audits of our systems and processes.
  • Blockchain Security: Leveraging the security features of the Solana blockchain for immutable record-keeping.
  • Vulnerability Management: We maintain an active vulnerability monitoring and patching program.

While we implement strong security measures, no system is 100% secure. We continuously work to improve our security protocols to protect your information.

Sharing Your Information

We understand the sensitivity of your professional identity data and maintain strict controls over information sharing:

Credential Verification Sharing

The core function of our platform is to enable secure verification of your professional credentials. When a third party verifies your credentials:

  • You will receive a notification of the verification request.
  • Only the specific credentials being verified are shared, not your entire profile.
  • A record of the verification is maintained for transparency.

Third-Party Sharing

We may share your information with the following types of third parties:

  • With Your Explicit Consent: When you specifically authorize sharing your digital identity or credentials with named third parties.
  • Verification Partners: When employers, certification bodies, or other authorized parties verify your credentials (with your knowledge).
  • Service Providers: With trusted technology providers who help us operate our platform under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Blockchain Network: Public blockchain data is visible to all Solana network participants (only non-sensitive data).

Information We Never Share

  • We never sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or any third parties.
  • We never share your private keys or wallet seed phrases (and in fact, we never have access to them).
  • We never share unredacted contact information without your explicit permission.

Data Transfer Agreements

All third-party service providers we work with are bound by data processing agreements that require:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your information
  • Processing data only according to our instructions
  • Implementing appropriate technical and organizational security measures
  • Promptly notifying us of any data incidents
  • Assisting with data subject rights requests

Your Rights and Control Over Your Data

We believe in giving you control over your digital identity. Depending on your location, you may have the following legal rights:

  • Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you, including how it's being used.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information in your profile.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information from our off-chain databases (except blockchain data, which cannot be deleted due to technical limitations).
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format for transfer to other services.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing of your information or revoke consent previously provided.
  • Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.
  • Opt-out: Opt-out of non-essential communications and certain types of data processing.

  • We may be required to retain certain information for legal, compliance, or legitimate business purposes.
  • Some rights may be limited where they conflict with legal obligations or legitimate interests.

  • We may retain certain information in an aggregated or anonymized form.
  • On-chain data will remain on the blockchain due to technical limitations.
  • We will delete backup copies according to our regular backup cycle, which may take up to 12 months.

Data Minimization

We follow data minimization principles, collecting and retaining only the information necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, and improve our platform.

International Data Transfers

Our operations may involve transferring your information to countries other than your own. When we transfer personal information outside of your jurisdiction, we implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
